Course Description

Words are powerful tools of communication. Indeed, word choice can easily influence the thoughts, attitudes and behavior of individuals, groups, departments, communities, and nations who are listening. Words matter. Behavior is a powerful communication tool. Nonverbal forms of communication also influence those around us. Behavior matters.

The ability to communicate clearly and with purpose, both verbally and nonverbally is an essential core competency for organizational leaders and managers today. Employees expect better communication from management than they have in years past. Communication that clearly conveys an organization’s vision and purpose, how each employee fits into that vision and purpose and what paths are open for employee development are just some of the key questions employees want to clearly understand.

The development of interpersonal communication skills within a workforce is probably the most important investment an organization can make today. Improved communication skills will improve quality of decisions, workplace relationships, creativity, and productivity. And probably most important of all, develop a sense of credibility and trust within an organization’s culture.
